Interview 2

A little over a month ago I was approached by a great new organization, Future Midwives of America. It is great resource that is dedicated to helping students on the path of midwifery.  I am grateful that it is also a place that discusses both CNM and CPM as valid paths without trashing one or the other. They asked if I would be willing to be interviewed for the website.  I was floored…someone wanted to interview me?!? I said “sure” and then quickly became pretty nervous about the whole thing. Luckily, by the time the interview was scheduled I had been able to calm my shaky nerves. All in all, I think it went well, please check it out if you get a chance.  And then take some time to check out the rest of the website.

    Hi Aubre,

I too am very excited about this new organization! There's nothing else like it as far as I can tell and I agree it's great that both CPMs and CNMs are acknowledged as equals.

I absolutely LOVED your interview. You were articulate, passionate, and truly inspiring. I've so enjoyed reading your blog over the past couple of years and it was such a fun experience to hear you speak for the first time. Your lovely birth example also brought tears to my eyes, so moving! For me, midwifery is absolutely a calling and aside from my family it is the greatest love in my life. It's so inspiring and meaningful to read about your adventures as midwife (especially at such an incredible birth center!) because it reminds me what all this hard work is about.

Tomorrow I fly to Kentucky for Frontier Bound. Wish me luck! And thanks for sharing your story. 🙂
