Midwife Blog

Back in 2010, I started this Midwife Blog as a brand new shiny midwife. I was so excited to serve birthing families that I needed an outlet. I feel that the art of midwifery is a path to walk along; a path that requires acute observation, training and collaboration. I share these birth stories and my musings as an attempt to support others on the path. When I was first starting this journey, I had a constant yearning for connection to others in the field. I was so thirsty for knowledge that I read anything and everything I could get my hands on. I read textbooks, journals and books like Spiritual Midwifery and Heart & Hands. I also longed to hear from actual midwives and found those resources harder to come by. So, I decided that when I was ready to officially embark on this wild midwifery ride, I would share my experiences for others who were to come behind me.

Please know that when I share birth stories, all details have been altered to protect the privacy of the families. All names are changed, the gender of the babies are changed as well as their weights and the dates of the postings do not correspond to the birthdays. In fact, I have altered the details so well that many times I cannot even remember the actual names.

Additionally, the information in the website, and on all associated social media outlets, should in no way be interpreted as medical advise. Always contact your medical provider if you have any concerns or questions about your personal care.
